The prototype of this full-sized CUV was unveiled at Tesla’s design studios in Los Angeles on February 9 2012. It is designed to blend the best of an SUV with the benefits of a minivan, as only an electric car can. In this amazing car, utility meets performance.

It is a car above category, built around the driver. It will be manufactured at the company’s factory in Fremont, California. The car is being developed from the full-size sedan platform of the Tesla Model S. In fact Model X is Tesla’s follow-up vehicle to the award-winning Model S sedan.

Tesla had planned to start producing this model by the end of 2013. It was later postponed many times in order to keep up with the production targets set for Model S and to focus on overseas rollouts. The company intends to start delivering Tesla Model X to its retail customers in the third quarter of 2015.

The base price of the car in the US was $109,000 in the year 2010.

Folks at Al and Ed’s Auto Sound in West Hollywood transformed a factory 2009 Tesla Roadster into a bespoke sound beast. Al and Ed’s Auto Sound specializes in custom stereo upgrades.

The vehicle was displayed at the basement of the LA Auto Show. Upgrades included a Focal Utopia sound system ($12,000) and a 600W hidden amplifier. The speakers cost $6,000. All the work that went into the vehicle amounted to $50,000. Making it the most expensive Tesla Roadster at $160,000.

It is expensive. People at T Sportline have found a way to jack up the price to $205,820. The additions that are involved are super luxe.

Folks at T Sportline used the powerful 85-kWh Model S that costs $85,900. They added the ‘performance plus’ package, which included a fiber spoiler, ‘smart air’ suspension, red brake calipers, high-fidelity sound system and a panoramic sunroof. There are also ‘Ghost Gold’ forged wheels, a carbon-fiber body kit and a $25,000 bespoke interior.

The car has won many awards like the 2013 World Green Car of the Year, Automobile Magazine’s 2013 Car of the Year, 2013 Motor Trend Car of the Year and Time Magazine Best 25 Inventions of the Year 2012 Award.
